Stretching out bladder by plugging catheter

I tried to go back to IC for anthony last night but his bladder seems that it can only hold about 150cc before slightly starting to sweat and at 400 he is a spasming sweaty mess even with his trospium and 2mgs of valium. So I had to put back in a urethral catheter, or I would have to cath him every...

  • thank you gjnl, this does help. We should be getting the MicrocynAH this week. If I do try the 30cc at first and he is not able to tolerate it (AD, sweating, spasms) what does 3 part product to 1 part saline mean? Does that mean 30cc + 10cc of saline? Also I don't have saline but I do have sterile...

for the supra what do you have it secured with a stat loc? or tape I would just make sure that the catheter is very secure so that when you turn only the connector tube that you are using gets pulled make sure that the catheter itself does not get tugged on. My son has a foley catheter but the same...

Thanks! I'm pretty sure at this time slight AD is coming from not emptying out all the way after several attempts at bowel program and bladder spasms; the valium did help with those . . . For his not emptying his GI Dr. suggested giving him 150ml of magnesium citrate that I did about 2 hours before...

also his BP has been a problem since the SPT was placed, it is out now but now he has been on ampicillin for the last two weeks and has some time to go on that, but his ID Dr. said if anything ampicillin would give diarrhea instead of constipation. He has not emptied out as much as I would like, seems...

Each morning using gloves I have been removing the connector tube from the catheter, plugging it then emptying the bed bag of urine and then closing the bed bag and putting...

The last bacteria that was noted was the enterococcus faecalis. After this round of antibiotics for that ampicillan and if he starts getting UTIs again like last year what kind of meds are given in the instillations does it depend on the bacteria each time? Actually found an article but I cannot access...

Unfortunately this morning he is all sweaty, I am fearing he is not going to be able to handle any type of tube in his bladder anymore I need to...

thanks all, since things have changed in the last couple of days, he now has a urethral foley catheter, do you flush that? We are going to be changing every 21 days per infectious disease Drs. recomm. I am only assuming that the urol recomm. everyday was to flush out bacteria when he was having UTIs?...
