If you have been using a Fleets on your bowels for a long time, your bowel may not work without an that enema. We never use this first line. We use it as a rescue, if abdomen is distended and bp results not good.
Enemeez is better for you than magic bullet. You can start with one Enemeez and...

Clear urine is not an issue. DM 2 urine is not necessarily clear. Frequent urination is not noticed by a lot of patients and some people deny it and the thirst. The more water you drink, the more clear your urine will be ( most people). With an SCI and bladder issues, it is really hard to go by that....

Well it takes more than an 18 month online degree to become an NP and they must have 500 hours to complete program and to take the NP exam. The NP can work under any agreement with the urologist but the patient can ask to see the urologist or...

Is it MRSA ? Ellura is a cranberry derivative pill prevention. D- Mannose or Methenamine would be worth a try. Fosfomycin is an IV antibiotic and recommend have sensitivity checked for Minocycline but if MRSA then doubtful. And it is nothing you have done, that is why they are called smart bugs, there...

We never prescribe less than 7 days but with the C. diff he was just being cautious. Hopefully 10 days will do it. If you were symptomatic then that is fine. If doesn't treat then you might have prostatitis or kidney/bladder stone that is keeping you from clearing.

Sometimes the suppository takes longer but, you could always eat, go to toilet put suppository in and have some nice warm/hot whatever with breakfast and maybe have some more while waiting for action. I admire your quest for total independence! You might have to try different things to get the right...

I guess my idea of a vaccine is a shot once a year or less. URO vaxom is a pill you take for 3 months, consists of 18 uropathogenic strains. Studies showed modest success. It is marketed in Europe and Canada. I have never seen it used here and never read studies for SCI. E. coli has several options-...

  • Do you have a close family member or friend who you would trust to manage your financial affairs? If so, you can give them a limited power of attorney (best drawn up by an attorney). Limited puts limits on what they can do. This does not give them power of attorney of the person, which would apply for...

Do not pre-inflate catheter balloons. This is an outdated practice, and with modern materials and manufacturing it can actually cause more trauma during catheter insertion than when inserting a non-pre-inflated catheter, and even more trauma than can be caused by having to remove and replace a defective...

    in Care
Most ports are just used with a Luer-tipped or slip-tipped syringe and push on/push off. There is not a twisting activated valve there...the Luer or slip-tip pushes in the valve, allowing you to either instill or remove fluid from the catheter balloon. You can twist if you want to be sure that you are...

I think that you can do this and do it safely. That being said, you might want to give some thought to whether this is how you want to expend your energy. That is a decision that only you can make. My two cents worth is try it for a bit and see what works. At least that way, you know you can do...

    Free Wheelchair Mission

We have discussed this organization before, but it bears repeating, especially since they just had their 1,000,000th wheelchair delivery, and have moved a long way on the redesign of their chairs. I have been a donor since 2004, and will continue to do so. If you are able, please consider adding this...

Microdox solution is not available in the USA. It is essentially the same as Microcyn (Microdacyn Super Oxidised Solution), which is discussed at length on our forums. It is used for UTI prevention, not treatment.

replied to Replace leg bag after UTI?
    in Care
Are you using an indwelling catheter or an external condom catheter (ECC)? If using an indwelling catheter, it is recommended to change the catheter and drainage bags when a UTI occurs; in fact it is best to do these BEFORE submitting your urine specimen for C&S analysis. This is the only time it...

  • Dibenzyline and Metoprolol work in different ways, but both are used for hypertension management. Dibenzyline is is a long-acting, adrenergic, alpha-receptor blocking agent. Metoprolol is a beta-blocker which works by blocking the action of certain natural chemicals in your body (such as epinephrine)...
