Yes I shouldn’t have said diagnosing. I’ve had a terrible time for years getting my local lab to do a full urinalysis with cultures and sensitivity. They almost always say the sample was contaminated and they throw it out. I’ve done clean catch with brand new catheter and it makes no difference....

I appreciate your input. Both people I know were quadriplegics, both had the bladder completely removed. Both had complications from the surgery. One with the twisted bowel I mentioned the other they cut his bowel and didn’t catch it. He started crashing in recovery and went septic. Emergency surgery...

Yes that scares me as well. She suggested it like it was no big deal. But I know it’s a big surgery. Said they could do my colostomy at the same time.
i know utis are still possibly and likely, but hopefully less according to her. I had a friend that had it done and he still had frequent...

Urostomy with a colostomy
Does anyone here have both of these? I've been on the waitlist for a colostomy for two years. Barely have my head wrapped around getting one and now my urologist has suggested bladder removal and a urostomy to eliminate chronic recurrent symptomatic uTIs that cause sediment which blocks my catheter...

I assumed you were taking the bladder medication. That could absolutely cause if you are not taking any. I cannot go without it… currently taking toviaz. My spasms are so bad without it I would likely stroke out if I stopped it. I've even had some stop working for some reason. And had to switch do...

Until I lay down. Then it usually gets better. It's often worse when I have a bad bladder infection or bloated...

Thanks for the information. I'm OK with it publicly if you are. My rehab Dr suggested the Cecostomy over the colostomy because it's much less invasive and reversible easily. But the surgeon she referred me too didn't know much about them and had never done one before. All the information online tends...

It’s hard to start without uti symptoms as my bladder is constantly growing something these days and giving me symptoms, muscle spasms, bladder spasms, sediment that plugs the catheter. Dysreflexia etc.
and I have a terrible time getting diagnosed and treated. The lab here repeatedly...

I’m a c4/c5 quadriplegic and dependant on others for everything. I’ve also had a miserable bowel routine for the past 32 years so decided I didn’t want any more bowel care routine and opted to get a colostomy....

I am having this exact problem. Magic bullet stop working. Or very inconsistent. One Bp it works like normal several others it does nothing. Sometimes have full chills but little to no results other times no chills and still little or no results. I’ve tried enemeez and it’s pretty much the same....

If you don’t mind me asking, how do you like the cecostomy? Other than the smell that lingers behind. Do you have a spinal cord injury?
My Dr recommended I try one but I couldn't find anyone that had one well especially someone with a spinal injury. I'm currently on a waitlist for a colostomy....
