Is skin redness while showering a sign of cellulitis?

I have had more weird symptoms in the last three weeks than in three years when things were going well: mysterious skin lesions, a burn, a bad UTI resistant to a bunch of things. I think my doctors are starting to get annoyed honestly.

So the latest is that after the lesions from my last...

    Slowed thinking after UTI?

I had a fairly bad UTI over the weekend, with fever spiking to almost 103 and that was with Tylenol. Turned out to be klebsiella pneumoniae. I had just about every symptom one could get, nausea, vomiting, spasms, discharge, chills, confusion etc.

But my fever has been normal for the last...

    How accurate are forehead thermometers?

Most of my doctors and nurses use forehead thermometers now. The last one had a temperature of 98.6 degrees, but an oral reading I took a few minutes later with an old Welch-Allyn thermometer was 100.4 degrees. I'm not sure if there is something wrong with my thermometer, or theirs.

    Also,...

KLD By the way you advised me a few years ago when I got my last cellulitis infection on the foot always to wear shoes when in the wheelchair. Unfortunately I did not take the advice because I was too lazy to put shoes on and off all the time. But now I see you were right and exactly why. The shoes...

baldfatdad what is really annoying is that the wheelchair manufacturer places a big, dangerous bump 2 inches from your shin (where the tube that is welded to the footrest fits into the larger hollow tube on the frame - that is where the bump is). Knowing people's legs often go askew on there. That is...

    Pressure sores from wheelchair footrest?

I think I might possibly have gotten a pressure sore from the vertical bar that holds the footrest to the frame. My feet do not rest evenly on the footrest but instead my right leg slides off to the right edge of the wheelchair. This puts pressure on the right side of my ankle from the bar, pic enclosed....

Just back from the E.R. It turns out that the cellulitis was not spreading to my knee. Instead, I apparently separately burned my leg, probably from making pasta. Some hot water or oil must have splashed onto the leg, causing a red streak down the leg. I don't know how this could have happened, I cook...

Well it’s spread to my knee and Urgent Care tells me I need to go to the ER.

One thing I always have trouble with is figuring out when to go the doctor. It seems like when I have something wrong with me and I go to the doctor they always say it's nothing or don't do anything. But when I don't go to the doctor it turns out I should have gone earlier.

    Here, when I...

OK thanks. I had edited the original post just before your reply was posted. The original post was before I went to Urgent Care the second time; the edited post was after. I was hoping to avoid confusion but probably increased it. Anyway yes Urgent Care agreed with you. The logistics of managing this...

    skin peeling on foot

Edit: I just got back from Urgent Care and was told
    • This is cellulitis
    • I should take doxycycline
    • I should elevate the foot

The doctor seemed very concerned that the toes were purple until the foot was elevated.

I'm a bit concerned here too. I cannot easily do most activities...
