  • As far as cost goes, I don't mind listing prices because they are on HOC's website/order form already. Plus, this is going to vary greatly depending on our needs. A basic chair from HOC with no upgrades starts at $1,950. Once you add basic scissor brakes, forks, casters, cushion, rear wheels, etc. you...

Thanks, I had these brakes on my last chair too and will never have another chair without them. I'm T6 complete....

Thanks. I'm on the other side of the country, so I just sent them my measurements.

Thanks, I wasn't able to go through insurance, but it wouldn't hurt for anyone interested to check with them first. Here are some pics with the bags attached:

  • When I asked my nurse if I needed to do that she said if the symptoms go away after the AB, they don't usually do another c&s. That being said should I ask to do it anyway? Could the bacteria still be there even though the symptoms got better?

    Post was unapproved?

Can an admin help me with a post I just made. It says it is unapproved and I can no longer post in it or edit posts. I had a really hard time attaching images and had to edit my original post multiple times in a row, not sure it that threw a red flag or what. It's in the equipment section. Thanks

My new chair (Hands on Concepts)

Here are some pics of my new chair from Hands on Concepts. For those that don't know, this is the shop that make D's Locks. I started following them on instagram a few years ago when I saw they were making chairs. I was always very impressed with the quality of their work as well as the ingenuity of...

  • Things seem back to normal, thanks. Been off the antibiotics for about 4 days now. The cold sweating at night has gone away as well as the need to use the condom catheter/2nd bag in addition to the SP tube. I've had tendinitis in both elbows for the past three years or so and did experience a flare...

    in Care
I had an SP tube put in two weeks ago. I had a c&s done a week after that due to UTI symptoms and it showed an infection. I didn't take the specimen from the leg bag, the nurse told me to pinch off the SP tube for about 5 min and get the specimen straight from that. I was started on generic Levaquin...

    Replace leg bag after UTI?

I use the Urocare latex reusable leg bags. They have an anti re-flux valve that only allows urine into the bag and not back out of it. I usually keep these for about 6 months and clean them everyday with warm water and isopropyl alcohol. Given this info is there a need to replace these after a UTI?...

  • Here are the culture results. I'm on day 4 of 7 of Levofloxacin (generic Levaquin). After having the UTI for 3 days or so waiting on the culture results, I did't have any problems with bladder spasms on the Myrbetriq. However the very next day after starting the antibiotic it started leaking and I had...

  • I had standard tilite forks, then frog legs suspension forks, then Outfront glide single sided suspension forks, and now frog leg unitines (single sided, no suspension) for the last 4 years and prefer them to the others. They are lighter, narrower, look better, and I can't tell much difference without...

  • Thanks, I will look into an ID doc. Normally I can pull up my test results online as well, but for some reason this most recent one is not showing up. I'll have to call Monday and get them to send them to me. I will post the info as soon as I get it and hopefully won't have any issues with the antibiotic...

  • If the prescription is for 7 days, should I call Monday and see if they will extend it to 10-14? The only other option was having a home health person come to my house and give me a shot every day for the next 5 days. No idea how expensive that would be....

  • Yes, levaquin and Cipro were the only options for this infection. I did have a c&s done. Would I be better off waiting this out and drinking lots of water, at least through the weekend? The only symptom I have is cold sweating through the night, which is manageable. No fever. After everything I've...

  • Is Cipro safe to take for UTI? (causes tendon damage, etc.)

So my doc gave me the option of Levofloxacin or Cipro for a UTI. The first sentence under the warning for both of these antibiotics is "may cause serious and possibly permanent tendon damage (such as tendonitis) peripheral nephropathy, and nervous system problems."

    I have had...

Yes, still wear a leg bag but don't have to worry about the condom catheters coming off/leaking and don't have to intermittent cath anymore (which I was still doing once a day just to completely empty my bladder). Hopefully the SP tube will never get pulled out, and I'm hoping it doesn't leak either....

No, it is different. Don't have the results in front of me to know what it was exactly....

I had a UTI a few weeks before the SP tube procedure and took oral antibiotics for 7 days. Finished the antibiotics about 4 days before the procedure. 2-3 days after the procedure I started freezing/sweating at night which usually happens when I have a UTI. So I took a sample in and just heard back...
