Update: my bladder pain level goes from low some days then back to high with a lot of bladder spasms. Right now my bladder is extremely painful. Pretty sure I don’t have a UTI as I recently had a culture done and it came back negative. Still doing gentamicin & lidocaine installations.

I can’t do laying prone for long… claustrophobia feelings. The sacral reddening is getting better now that I have a good mepilex on it. Jjust shows how quickly one area can start to have a skin breakdown when attempting to heal another skin breakdown/wound

Sacral Wound after bed rest w/ Butt Wound
Having a lot of frustrations keeping my skin healthy. Feeling like a failure after doing really really well with skin health for years. I’m developing redness that’s not going away on my sacral area after laying in bed quite a bit to stay off the wound on my butt.
The wound on my butt...

Mattress Options, Overlays & Positioning
I have some questions about good mattresses for pressure relief, mattress overlays and positioning. I have a bedframe that can raise the head of the bed and the legs of the bed. Which angle is best? I know keep in the head of the bed below 30? keeps pressure of the ischiums. Also any products I would...

It’s frustrating getting any clear information but it seems like people with significant underlying conditions like a spinal cord injury who are under 65 may be able to fit into Phase 1C of the vaccine rollout program but it would be up to the state. I really don’t know if Cuomo and the...Last edited by KyleP2112; 9 Jan 2021, 12:45 PM.

I’ll post more below but New York State just opened phase 1B of their rollout program on January 11 and don’t anticipate vaccinating all 3.2 million or so people in this category until early April. I did read that CDC guidance sent to NYS people such as ourselves with pre-existing conditions...

I’m using a wound healing support dressing I’ve had success with before right now . It’s called Promogran Prisma. Any knowledge of which dressing is better, the Hydrocolloid or Promogran?
Since my wound is very healthy and is improving I’m considering staying away...

Glad to know there’s an advantage to using a smaller catheter size...they’re softer the smaller they are

On day 10 there definitely seems to be quite a bit of healing and new tissue growth which is great. I have an appointment for a wound care clinic but I am wary of going with the coronavirus levels around here.
I’ll definitely try to get a thin hydrocolloid dressing (McKesson make...Last edited by KyleP2112; 7 Jan 2021, 6:27 PM.

What”s the best dressing while I’m in bed off the spot? Does it need gauze and tape? It’s been it with wound spray, applied hydro gel but not sure how often to leave gauze off for...Last edited by KyleP2112; 7 Jan 2021, 5:58 PM.

New Wound
So now I have a new skin breakdown, a wound, that seems to be getting better but is a little stubborn. I’ve had it for a week now. The tissues seems very healthy but I wanted to show a couple pictures to see if anyone had advice.
This wound is on a major pressure point. My last “major“...Last edited by KyleP2112; 4 Jan 2021, 6:13 PM.

Now I’m doing a licodain installation to see if these painful bladder spasms can’t be stopped for a while.

Hey Art 454, how do you Claritin-D 24 hour help your bladder problem? Just curious if it would help me at all. Thanks, Kyle

Thanks for posting on my bladder problem page. I wanted to ask you about using Claritin-D 24 hour. How does that help you with your bladder problem? Just wondering if Clairton D could be of any help to me.
thanks, Kyle

So you’re saying the problem probably isn’t bladder pressure from spastic bladder?
I could see a different urologist but ideally it would be one near where I live outside of Albany New YorkLast edited by KyleP2112; 25 Dec 2020, 5:28 PM.

I’m not sure what the urologist is basing his nerve recession thinking on as far as research on that.
I haven’t been very happy with this urologist and his thoroughness. He is even claiming there’s not much more they can do, that I should follow up with my neurologist...

My urologist thinks the ongoing Bladder spasms I am having after getting the UTI cleared up with antibiotics is due to the nerve recession that apparently can happen after having a neurogenic bladder for many years.
I’m desperate for a solution, a more long-term solution, other than...Last edited by KyleP2112; 25 Dec 2020, 6:55 PM.

Having lidocaine instilled in my bladder for about an hour helped calm the spasms I’ve been having. Also taking a medication called Uribel, That turns your pee blue, also helped a lot to calm painful spasms.
Why do bladder spasms get so bad like this? What’s a more long-terms...
