thanks for your kind offer, but I’m trying to go unreasonably light weight and small. I’m trying to think outside of the box.
for now I’m thinking I’ll just use some 1” nylon strap and the slimmest plastic buckle I can find.
my chair already weighed...

Ultralight Seatbelt Reccomendations?
I just got a pair of reversible hill holders/brakes yesterday and I'm planning to install them soon and play around with climbing stairs again. I need a seatbelt to help keep my apx 30 pound manual chair with me, but I will almost never use this seatbelt. Literally only when climbing stairs. So I...

Good to know. If I ever buy a house, I'll make sure it's a single story!...

Sheesh, does it really cost 80k to have a decent elevator installed these days?...

I’m due for for my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine on Monday. No side effects with the first one though a couple of my colleagues have been out of work with muscle aches and fever for a couple days with the second.
As a physician I certainly encourage all of my fellow SCIers to...

I’ll admit I was a douche in my SCI youth. I used to go out of my way to not even make eye contact with other wheelers because to me in some weird way that was treating you different just like all the ABs. It was like pretending I didn’t even notice anything different about you, but in...

In reading the specific sensationalized news article above, there’s every reason to believe the patient would have experienced the same improvement without any intervention. He was still less than a year post injury and they even mention that patient response has “varied”. What if...

I have yet to see a large scale study showing any significant improvement in chronic and complete paralysis. I have seen quite a few small scale studies with just a handful (or one) incomplete SCI publish positive results, which is statistically and scientifically pretty meaningless, but easily sensationalized...

wow, Im all for good conspiracy theory now and then, but there’s no way you actually believe this right?
you think someone has a magical cure for paralysis, but they get pulled aside by a cabal of doctors and DME suppliers and wheelchair manufacturers who buy them off? Lol. ...

I do this whenever I’m traveling. If I’m gone long enough to need to air up my tires I stop by a bike shop. They’ve universally been really cool about airing the tires up for me and have never even charged me for it....

You should be able to adjust the footplate unless it’s already at the maximum height. I had a 2012ish ZRA and it was very difficult to adjust the footplate height, but if you loosened it all the way in both sides and gave it a solid wack or 15 with a rubber mallet it would move... millimeter...

The flu shot cannot cause the flu. It’s biologically impossible. Any immunization can cause an immune reaction and make you feel sick. That’s kind of the whole point of an immunization. Anyone who’s had the flu vs the extremely mild flu like symptoms after an injection knows the...

I guess it depends on your level of function. As a para I wouldn't want to be getting into an SUV on a regular basis because of the extra stress on the shoulders from transferring in and out. On the other hand my neighbor showed me around her Tesla Model X with the gull wing back door, and it looked...

that’s good to know, but I’m probably going to end up paying $500 for the brakes above because they’re also reversible hill holders so it should make climbing stairs markedly easier. And by easier I mean possible because I’ve always struggling with climbing stairs though I’ve...

TRA frame diameter?
Anybody know the size of the frame for a 2019 TiLite TRA? It's not immediately obvious from a google search.
I am going to try and fit these hill holder brakes https://dezziv.eu/product-category/wheelchair-brake/ to replace my broken TiLite brakes. Hopefully they will help me be able...

Anyone doing videography from a wheelchair?
Lately I've been watching a bunch of videos online of people who basically just carry a camera around on a walk for an hour or two, no talking, no narration, just nice 4k video of the sights and sounds of the city/town/forest/beach, etc. It makes something interesting to have in the background on my...
