replied to Exoskeleton for pressure relief?
What would REALLY work would be a float bed. Basically a tank of water like a sensory deprivation tank, and you lower yourself in it and float to sleep. Need some kind of rubber body suit to keep yourself dry, but it would perfectly maintain your body temperature and you can’t get any better...

  • Not a dumb idea, but perhaps overly complicated. If it’s really just while in bed that you’re worried about, developing a better pressure relieving bed would seem simpler. Maybe something that is able to sense pressure and take into account what phase of sleep you are in to minimize sleep...

    replied to Low Sodium??
    in Care
There are literally dozens of causes of low sodium. It would be irresponsible for us to guess what has caused yours and to recommend ways to fix it. Also suddenly changing the amount of sodium in your blood can be deadly. You should do the follow up tests your doctor recommends so they can figure...

  • It sounds like you had an FSA, not an HSA, KLD. HSA money doesn’t expire.

  • What would make me the most comfortable, would be if I could submit receipts and get them "approved", but not take the money out until I decide to... but if it was "approved" it would seem to be easier to get the money whenever I wanted....

  • Does an HSA cover wheelchair parts/accessories?

I've got an HSA at work and I'm not quite sure how it works. I guess maybe I've been traumatized by all the back and forth I get from insurance companies trying to not cover stuff that I really need to live my life, but does anyone know how HSAs work?

Obviously I need to document my expenses...

  • We're from the same neck of the woods. I was in Greenville for a while. They were actually pretty good. There was an intersection near my apartment that had three curb cuts, but no curb cut on the forth corner, which meant I had to cross the street and then cross back at the next block if I was going...

This is super creative, but I live alone... nobody I can rely on to come read the scales for me, friend or enemy....

  • I have a family friend who was one of the last people to get polio before the vaccine was widely available. She lost the use of her hands and arms at an early age, probably around 5 or 6, which must have been the mid-50s right when the vaccine was being distributed in higher numbers.

    Honestly,...

Can you describe how this works?
I can picture (kind of) getting up on four bathroom scales, though it seems super awkward and a little dangerous. But then how do you read it?

I assume you have wheel or caster on each scale, I feel like if I leaned left to read the left one I would...

    replied to suppositories
The prescription needs to be signed as “dispense as written” not “substitution permitted”. For sure you’ll get the cheaper less effective kind is they are permitted to substitute genetics....
