  • Joanns apparently has a 90 day return policy and pretty good prices from what I can tell....

  • Thanks for sharing your experience. The very first thing I need to do is pretty simple and even if I messed it up I could do it over, appearances don't matter at all (it's the straps inside the upholstered back of my chair).

It might be pretty thick at two layers of nylon plus two layers...

  • How hard would you say sewing in general is? I’m coming into this with zero sewing experience and I’m not a terribly crafty or creative guy.

On the other hand I’m not trying to fashion a three piece suit from scratch, I just want to shorten up some straps on my wheelchair...

  • Anyone use a sewing machine?

I've got several modifications I'd like to do to my seat cushion cover and the back of my chair. My original plan was to go to a tailor and see if they could do some of them, but who knows when they will open back up with everything that is going on.

So I was thinking about buying a sewing...

    Congrats?

I know mine is October something in 07, but I've forgotten the exact date quite a while ago. Not something I care to commemorate... or maybe I'm just bad with dates... I had to double check when my mother's birthday was this year....

  • Cochlear implants are definitely not mandatory. To be fair often their done in childhood, so it's the parents and not the actual patient who consents, but those parents refuse all the time.

But in any case, I'm confused how you see hearing (cochlear implants) as necessary, or forgivable...

  • The last few times I moved I’ve noticed lots of rental decisions have been deferred to computer algorithms that you can’t negotiate or reason with.

If you find a place you like that has a more traditional land lord and who makes the decision to rent a place to someone themselves,...

  • I love the old Guy Ritchie films like Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. You have to be okay with sometimes intense and difficult to understand UK accents, but they're visually stunning films packed with action, memorable dialog and a great sense of humor....

Sounds like you’ve though this one through. I just didn’t want anyone thinking they’d have a better chance of survival if they declined being intubated. P It absolutely makes sense to be DNI if you don’t think the risks and pain of being intubated are outweighed by the increased...

Thanks, I'd tried googling it, but googling "STOMPS" without knowing what it stood for didn't yield any relevant results.

Looks like pretty good stuff. Out of curiosity do you have a sense of roughly how long it takes you to do all of the exercises?

Staph aureus (the SA in MRSA) lives essentially symbiotically (or at least benignly) on everyone’s skin and nose. Some people are colonized in this manner with the methicillin resistant forms (MRSA). Just because it’s on your skin (ie an abscess) doesn’t mean it’s in your blood....

To be DNI (do not intubate) or not is a legitimate option to consider and plan for when it comes to end of life care.

I’d be shocked if any rational clinician suggested that patients did better if not intubated. The reason you intubate someone is that they are actively dying from...
