I don't do facebook, ego shitposts.
Just maybe my comment will be read by someone who has the ear of someone who could help make a difference. I don't enjoy living off insurance, unlike Canada we much rather earn our living.

You betcha! Those shiftless Canucks living off their socialistic grandaddy guvement!
        Make my blood boil!

NOT! actually it's posts like yours that I find frustrating. You really would benefit finding something creative to do with your time.

This is the sort of thread that led me to abandon CC years ago. It's like watching ill-behaved children throw stones at each other. If you do not like a post, mov along. No need to comment.

            I couldn?t agree more Tetra
I always enjoyed coming to cc and, as long as kept within reasonable boundaries, expressed my feelings dejour to others who may also be going through the same challenges I am regarding how frustrating this life can be with spinal cord injury, without someone that is not facing the same challenges telling me to buck up and go somewhere else, I mean if that is the mandate or collective sentiment of this site please advise and I will do so quite
            gracefully?????????

Yet you put down Canadians and their hard work . They've put more into research than most other countries, including the US. You obviously have never lived or worked in Canada or was just trying to be funny.

If you dislike living off insurance so much why not get an education and go to work. Don't mean to disrespect you but Canada actually has a better system of allowing the disabled to try working again and still be able to get back on benefits if it didn't work out. I did my rehab at GF Stronge in Vancouver after working in BC for 7 years. I know many, as good friends, who made a worldwide difference; Norm Haw, ex Mayor of Vancouver, Rick Hansen, Sam Sullivan, Terry Fox. Can name more if you wish; all Cnadians who went back to work and made a difference post injury.

I enjoy your posts Tim; just dislike generalizations of a people as a whole. Kind of like all quads are just excess baggage on the system.... Not so at all.

''unlike Canada we much rather earn our living.''
Patrick, kind of a tongue-and-cheek quip. I'd like to think I go out of my way not to insult or rub anyone here the wrong way. I have the utmost respect for members here going through what some of us face daily. the Canada thing was of a sartorial throw back to LYNNIFER, I miss her and our playful banter; re Canada v trump stuff, really innocent provocation, even if I sometimes find this venue an outlet for venting, and thought I could do that, at times I just hope to illicit a response from another member who understands where AB'S around me can't.....HOWEVER, if for any reason any member here feels offended, disrespected, or somehow annoyed at what I post, let me be the first to apologize....but geez guys, to tell me to go get an education so I can support myself....because that's not a thought that I've ever encountered? Would you really want me to discuss my education here, or can't I just bitch once in a while? Do you really think I possess a malicious cell in my body for anyone, no less Canadians? Is everyone's skin that thin here?
maybe I should not be here.

                  Suggestion

I get it, just wanted to rant a little. However, based on the responses, you might want to end your "I hate SSDI" rant (and other rants) with, "Hey folks, just wanted to rant."

That way, people won't tone police you, or offer unwanted suggestions...on the other hand, others may add their own "I hate SSDI" comments because they know it's just a "venting" post.

                  Just my .02

(Note: my immediate reaction was to give you some advice as I'm a retired C4,5,6 incomplete rehab Counselor)

                    Suggestion

Sorry folks, still trying to figure out how to DELETE repeated post(s). Clicked on EDIT/DELETE, but page has everything to edit the post, but no "DELETE" option?

I thought so Tim. I surely understand your frustration . It's been 46 yrs for me and still have those times. Stay strong and vent here. You say it right on.

Lol, I surely miss Lynnifer. She was a firecracker.

Welcome Doc. S.. it'll be good having a rehab. counselor aboard. We have amazing people with great history's. SCI55 is one you'll have to read.

                          Ranting on my rant?
                          thank you dr Strangelove,
Genuine advice is appreciated. I respect your effort to become an incomplete rehab counselor as a C4,5,6.....are you working towards becoming a complete counselor?
Perhaps I should not post much here at all anymore. As suggested in an earlier response, I "should find something more creative to do with my time", as if a few random posts here and there on CC consume my entire day.
                          Ugh.
actually after re-reading the comments, (in disgust) GOOD BYE

I can relate Tim, and the way you felt when you posted that came across clearly to me. I was denied SSDI because my tax returns ‘proved I manipulated my income’. My tax returns show the financial decline of someone with a degenerative nerve disorder loosing the use of their hands. I would also much rather have my former dexterity back than be spending all my time ‘faking’ and ‘manipulating my income’. Being accused of lying has had a disastrous effect on my will to live.
