    Fee based bowel and bladder

Hey, the VA called today and said they're reducing my Fee based bowel and bladder hours per day to 1 hour / day. That's much too low - I can't fit my bowel and bladder care into 1 hour a day. Are there any minimum hours they have to pay? Any hints?

No, there are no minimum hours. What is approved is supposed to be based on documentation by your provider of the time it takes to do your bowel/bladder care. You have the right to appeal this decision. I would strongly suggest you get with your PVA NSO and get help with this. They should be able to work with you and your provider to be sure that the documentation of the time required is done correctly and using the correct forms. For someone with SCI, 2-3 hours is much more common.

The SCI-Nurses are advanced practice nurses specializing in SCI/D care. They are available to answer questions, provide education, and make suggestions which you should always discuss with your physician/primary health care provider before implementing. Medical diagnosis is not provided, nor do the SCI-Nurses provide nursing or medical care through their responses on the CareCure forums.
