  • MS & Parkinsons

    Hello!
I am usually on the other forum asking questions for my son with a SCI. I just noticed this forum for MS. My mom has MS and now her doctor is telling her that she has Parkinsons as well . I was just wondering how common it is to have both?

Because Parkinson's disease (1-2 million people in the U.S.) and multiple sclerosis (400,000 in the U.S.) are relatively common, it is not surprising that the two conditions occur in same person. I don't think that there is strong evidence that one causes the other.

    Wise.
