    Geron fell to $6.95 today

I have only been following Geron for the last few months. Almost bought last week when it was close to $8.00. Glad I didn't. Today it closed at $6.95. At one time it was at $10.00. I realize this would not be a short term stock to buy but I do believe in it for the long term. What are some of your thoughts on todays closing. As with any company, they can only work with the resources they have.

I'd buy it this week if I were you. I haven't seen it below 7.00 in a while.

Here is their 2007 first quarter report. Perhaps some of the more financially adept amongst us can comment:

        Wise.
I was hoping to hear from some financially well informed investors opinions also. I could slap myself upside the head for not buying yesterday. Spoke with my broker and if you're in for the long run it may pay off well but move cautiously. I think I'll put a put in and buy if it drops down to $7.00. Of course I'll buy online as opposed to through a broker. I think Buck is right. This should be the week to buy.

The following is a short copy and paste from the link Wise posted above.

The company expects its research and development expenses to increase in the future as it begins additional clinical trials with its telomerase inhibitor drug and its telomerase-based cancer vaccine, continues preclinical development of its human embryonic stem cell (hESC)-based cell therapy for spinal cord injury and initiates preclinical development of its telomerase activator drug for the treatment of HIV.

Here is what their shares were trading for in '00.

In my opinion, this is the last year that their stock will be this cheap.

Buck is right on the money.

This is the time to buy as much as you can afford.

GERN closed at 9.48 on heavy volume....I've read that the stock is attracting a lot more attention... lots of news today and the last few days...diabetes...anti-aging...obesity. My gut tells me this is a company that will produce viable products/treatments. It's still going to be a while before they make money, but I'll be buying more stock on pullbacks.

It closed high today because of the news that the California supreme court has released
                  3 billion for funding.

I boughtjust above $7.00. The past couple days I was waiting for it to go back down again before I put another put in but it kept gradually moving up not sure what to do now. Possibly wait. I don't have a crystal ball but I don't believe it is going to continue to keep rising at this quick rate. Although Buck did hit it in the nose. Last week was definitely the week to scoop it up.

I'm sure you have your own favorite but HERE is a site I like for investment research and advice. Follow the links around and you can really read up on the stock you're after.

Also check out the (GERN) discussion boards as well.

in this market I wouldnt touch anything with a 10 foot pole. Wait for the market to settle imo, even if you buy a little bit more expensive later. These 200 and 300 point drops are wiping the value of everything, not just those stocks with sub prime exposure.
I would want to see a stock that is heading downwards touch a previous bottom support price at least twice and bounce off before trying to predict the downward trend has stopped. Despite which biotech can be extremely volatile and much more at the mercy of market sentiment.
