    Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. Will Be Largest Carrier From Vancouver This Season

    VANCOUVER, April 26 /CNW/ -- With three Royal Caribbean
    International and three Celebrity Cruises ships sailing Alaska cruises out of
    Vancouver this summer, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. will provide the most
    guest berths of any cruise organization sailing from the port this season.

    Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., the world's second-largest cruise vacation
    company, is made up of Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises.
    The company will operate 11,806 double-occupancy berths onboard its Royal
    Caribbean ships, Radiance of the Seas, Legend of the Seas, and Vision of the
    Seas, and its Celebrity ships, Infinity, Summit, and Mercury. The two brands
    will make 111 sailings that either originate or conclude in Vancouver this
    season.
    "Our guests have always loved our Alaska sailings that depart from
    Vancouver, and this year we're giving them more options than ever," said Dan
    Hanrahan, senior vice president of Marketing and Sales for Royal Caribbean
    International. "Vancouver's newly expanded Canada Place cruise terminal will
    only improve our guest's experience and our company's operations. It's a win-
    win situation.
    "I appreciate the opportunity to see the port's new facilities and meet
    with local media, cruise and tourism leaders," Hanrahan said. His comments
    were made while Hanrahan visited the port today to tour the improved Canada
    Place cruise terminal with port officials, just weeks before the company's
    Vancouver cruise season begins.

    Three Royal Caribbean International ships will make the following Alaska
    sailings from the Port of Vancouver:
    Legend of the Seas: May 17 - September 6, 2002, seven-night sailings
    departing on alternating Fridays, northbound to Seward, Alaska, with ports of
    call in the Inside Passage (cruising); Ketchikan, Skagway, Juneau, and Sitka,
    Alaska; and Hubbard Glacier (cruising).
    On alternating Fridays, the ship will sail from Seward, Alaska, to
    Vancouver, with ports of call in Hubbard Glacier (cruising); Juneau, Skagway,
    Sitka, Ketchikan and Misty Fjords, Alaska; and the Inside Passage (cruising).
    There will also be two special roundtrip Vancouver sailing, on May 17 and
    24. Ports of call on the May 17 sailing include the Inside Passage
    (cruising); Ketchikan, and Juneau, Alaska; Hubbard Glacier (cruising); Sitka,
    Alaska; and the Inside Passage (cruising). Ports of call on the May 24
    sailing include the Inside Passage (cruising); Juneau and Skagway, Alaska;
    Hubbard Glacier (cruising); Ketchikan, Alaska; and the Inside Passage
    (cruising).

    Vision of the Seas: June 2 - September 8, 2002, seven-night roundtrip
    Vancouver sailings departing on Sundays, with ports of call in the Inside
    Passage (cruising); Hubbard Glacier (cruising); Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan,
    and Misty Fjords, Alaska; and the Inside Passage (cruising).

    Radiance of the Seas: June 8 - September 7, 2002, seven-night roundtrip
    Vancouver sailings departing on Saturdays, with ports of call in the Inside
    Passage (cruising); Juneau and Skagway, Alaska; Hubbard Glacier (cruising);
    Ketchikan, Alaska; and the Inside Passage (cruising).

    Three Celebrity Cruises ships will make the following Alaska sailings from
    the Port of Vancouver:

    Summit: May 24 - August 30, 2002, seven-night sailings departing Vancouver
    on alternating Fridays, northbound to Seward, Alaska, with ports of call in
    the Inside Passage (cruising); Ketchikan, Skagway and Juneau, Alaska; Hubbard
    Glacier (cruising); Valdez, Alaska; and College Fjords.
    On alternating Fridays the ship will sail from Seward, Alaska to
    Vancouver, with ports of call in Hubbard Glacier (cruising); Juneau, Skagway,
    Sitka, and Ketchikan, Alaska; and the Inside Passage (cruising).

    Mercury: May 26 - September 15, 2002, seven-night roundtrip Vancouver
    sailings departing on Sundays, with ports of call in the Inside Passage
    (cruising); Ketchikan, Alaska; Hubbard Glacier (cruising); Juneau and Sitka,
    Alaska; and the Inside Passage (cruising).

    Infinity: May 31 - September 20, 2002, seven-night roundtrip Vancouver
    sailings departing on Fridays, with ports of call in the Inside Passage
    (cruising); Juneau and Skagway, Alaska; Hubbard Glacier (cruising); Ketchikan,
    Alaska; and the Inside Passage (cruising).
