Sweet damn all except that it shows machinery and if you had an interest or a passion for things mechanical or bikes, I don't think that you would ask.
It made me feel a whole lot better today, so enjoy it, ignore it, bitch about it; today I just don't give a fat rats arse. 🤪😄
Maybe the mods will move it.......................Last edited by slow_runner; 4 Nov 2021, 12:36 PM.

I live 5 miles from Barbers'. They have a "century" race at Vintage Festival. 1 lap due the oil they unavoidably leak (hand pumped oil to open rockers).
Haven't been there to see one in 5 or 6 yearsAttack life, it's going to kill you anyway

I'm an old HD rider from wayback, seeing things like this still gets my blood pumping. Those old flat tracker riders had balls of steel, there's still flat tracking going on using the HD 750 engines, they haul ass, and still no brakes."a T10, who'd Rather be ridin'; than rollin'"

Search "Wheels Through Time". The founder Dale (as seen on American Pickers a few episodes) passed away last year but his collection/legacy of mostly un-restored yet ride-able machines lives on.Attack life, it's going to kill you anyway

Transisioning from THIS .................................To THIS
isn't so bad! The FrankenScooter may be more frightening than the Ducati (usually, but there was one exception) was!
It has a theoretical top speed of 36mph, but I can tell you that given the ridiculous high COG of the short, narrow tricycle, at 20 on my shitty roads, I'm wondering when the perfect storm of unevenness will put me up on one wheel. Given how unstable it is with smallish steering movement, I hunch recovery would be impossible, at least until many tries. I must be getting old
UPDATE: FrankenScooter is fully fleshed. I've gone 26.9mph with it. In my chair, I'm Craig Breedlove and believe me, I'm traveling faster than the speed of sound!
It addition to speed and acceleration, the 11" pneumatic tire gives it a Cadillac ride. And the brakes are also spectacular. I wonder if, with it really hooked up on good asphalt, it might be possible to pick up the rear tires! (fortunately in NJ there3 is no such thing) I HAVE been up on two wheels a couple times. Next summer I'll practice that! With the 49V 20Ah battery I think it will go well over 30 miles.Last edited by pfcs49; 14 Nov 2022, 11:18 PM.69yo male T12 complete since 1995

And while we're on the subject of getting old and motorcycles, you must see "The World's Fastest Indian" about Burt Munro, a NZ man who spent most of his life making a very old Indian Scout go fast. Trust me, it will touch your heart.
Here's a video about him:

I'd post the movie trailer, but somehow it misses the feeling of the film by a mile! With Antony Hopkins as the lead, you know it must be good.
The film is available streamed; watch it!69yo male T12 complete since 1995

My wife's Uncle knew Burt. The movie portrayed Bert pretty well but there was much more. As with most stories the narrative is often somewhat embellished. Bryers raced Vincents in his young years and still rides occasionally, on one of those duel front wheel motorbikes.
He was there at the first and every event until the last Brass Monkey Rally in 2021 - with his Son who also attended that first event with him.
My eldest Son rode down to Invercargill for the Burt Munro Rally back in 2019. Quite a number went, gathering more mates on the way. It took some courage as he was in stage 4 cancer. He had planned for a flight home - that didn't need to be implemented as he dug deep and with two mates who took the slower ride home with him.
Every day Dean needed to rest up after a few hours riding. That adventure with his close mates and new, took a whole lot out of him. Once returned home, it took him a month to recover - no regrets though.
In the end there was no miracle for him either.
RIP my loved Son. I miss you so much.Last edited by slow_runner; 17 Nov 2022, 5:54 AM.

PFC - That movie was very good, thought they did a good job of showing his passion, and some of his obstacles along the way. Good comedic portions too.
Gearhead - might have to look up that Doc, hah, sand casting at the beach, can't get more hardcore than that."a T10, who'd Rather be ridin'; than rollin'"
