Don't forget it's on tonight, 6 Mountain time, so I reckon it'll be on at 8 for the Eastern folks.

Safety if he's available. If need be, I don't know how far up they'd go. What about you guys? I haven't been keeping track, but the Eagles seem pretty well stocked on both sides.

I can honestly say that I don't see any "must have" players in this draft for the Eagles. They have a ton of picks, and I think there will be good value in the later rounds. The kid that I'm most interested in, but not for the Birds, is the QB predicted to be the #2 pick. I think he could be something special. The first pick, the Luck kid, has a great pedigreed. His dad was an NFL QB, and he's the AD at WVU (where he was a star QB). Standford means he should be able to handle the playbook fairly quick.

I'm guessing the Eagles will select a Defensive tackle with their first pick, and I don't expect them to trade up unless they are really high on a particular kid.

Long way to say I have NO idea where they are headed. When all is said and done, I know they will have some D linemen, a running back or two and possible somebody with size to catch the ball (WR or TE). But I never rule out a surprise with these guys.

First and foremost the Steelers are looking to shore up the deeefense. First choice is expected to be a linebacker from Alabama, Hightower. They are assuming Big Ben will stay healthy I guess. He got bloodied and broken up badly last season but he seems to be able to hang in there like Terry Bradshaw in seasons past.

I expect (which one should never do with Reid) the first 2-3 picks to be on defense.) If Cox or Kuechly aren't available at or near 15, look for the Birds to drop back for more picks and hopefully select a combo of Bobby Wagner (SAM) Derek Wolfe (DT) and B. Boykin (slot CB)
And the truth shall set you free.

Evidently the rumors that the Eagles were locked on Fletcher Cox were true. It's a good fit.

I really like Claiborne. Might be a shut down corner, or close to it. We need him against Philly and the Giants.

The Steelers had a surprise. They never talked about the All American Stanford guard (DeCastro) because being number 24 on the pick list, they never thought he would still be available. When the chance came, they could not pass it up. At times last season, the offensive line was more like a sieve than a steel curtain. I am sure that Roethlisberger is happy. I am sure that New England was just as surprised that they were able to get Hightower who everyone thought was all but signed by the Steelers.

Nice touch, having Brian Westbrook announce the Eagles selection with the 46th pick. Mychal Kendricks, ILB from California. It's obvious that the Birds place a very high value on high motor attacking type defensive players.

Philadelphia has another decision coming soon. What to do with the 51st pick?

ETA: Traded the 51 spot for 59 plus 121. Good move!

Well, I guess two out of....

Not sure why Kendricks over Wagner.
Foles was a reach and the tackle from Purdue wasn't even listed on the NFL.com stat page.

Now that things are winding down, a question has come to mind. Has anyone ever heard of a study that indicates what percentage of draft picks live up to the expectations of the teams and how many completely fizzle?
