I made North Dakota Hunting History Today

Well as far as I have been able to determine I made North Dakota hunting history today by becoming the first quad or para hunter in North Dakota to harvest a moose. Granted it is only a cow but that is fine with me. The hunt is a once in a lifetime hunt. Only 150 tags given available this year. Of which 75 were bulls and 75 were cows. There were over 125,000 applicants for the 150 tags and I was able to draw one of the cow tags. She was 275 yards out in harvested sunflower field. One shot from my Winchester Model 70 in the 270 caliber put her down. To say I was excited would be an understatement. Ten years ago if you would have asked me if I would be able to ever hunt again let alone making history and I would have told you not NO but Hell No. Granted I shot her out of my truck which is legal in North Dakota if you have a disability but still it was one of the greatest moments of my life.

One of the few wild meats I enjoy Nevada - Bill's high fiving you - his Mom would know exactly how to cook that nose (ewwww - I'll pass on that) she grew up eating all shapes and sizes of wild food and his Dad too during the depression - it was all the meat they could get then !! Savour the moment and the stew !!
