My husband pointed this article out to me from his Bass Master magazine. Blake Muhlenbruck of Naked Bait Co. in Colorado is organizing an auction to raise funds to build two accessible fishing docks in every state. Here's a link to the story to where you can find more information and nominate a lake in your area for an accessible dock: http://www.nakedbaitco.com/press.html

My baby, Reggie (Regina) went to Rainbow Bridge in January 2004. I now have Maggie who I adopted in 2006. She's half golden and half lab. But so far she hasn't caught a fish. Reggie did grab a pike about a 3 pounder when she was about 10 months old in a gravelly river bed. She was lost on why we were both screaming "drop it! drop it!". LOL Dogs are not allowed to go after any wildlife in Germany except in self defense and the local gamekeeper had been in the area recently. Didn't want my puppy shot for fishing. She wasn't into fishing after we moved back to the US but did go after ground hogs.
They are such loving sweet dogs. Just in different ways. My Maggie gives hugs which most dog behaviorists insist dogs hate when we do it to them.Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow."

There's an accessible fishing dock/pier down the road here on Cherokee Lake, pass it often and there has only been twice I have noticed a wc user there. It's in a good spot when the lake levels are not low due to drought.
I have only fished once since injury, early on. It just doesn't seem the same when you aren't having to go thru heck to get to the 'good' spots.

I just found this thread, we have a state park here that has an accessible dock on the water and the city has a lake that they have tried t make accessible but in my opinion it is all for the elderly to walk out on and take photos. I used to keep my boat out there and then they pissed me off by not having any slips that were accessible, so I sold it. I do plan on getting a pontoon again if I can find the time and money.

Rats Moody....need to get your hammer and tin of nails out and get busy puttn her back together!... seriously, damn shame your spot got ruined . I sure wish another place works out for you..The lakes that have a pier here put them in not so good spots. I hate having to "accept" where I can go fishing. really need to figger out this boat thing. I want to get back out where I can catch the fish I wanna catch, not whats swimming around the dock in 3 ft of water.

Are there any paylakes where you are? There's a bunch around here and that's where I go. It"s monster catfish catch/release, but they have jackpots you can win, makes it interesting.
