    Selective Nerve Root Injections

I have to ask because no one seems to know the answer. I have had one selective nerve root injection block in L-4 L-5 and S-1. How many of these "shots" will I need to have and if more than one how far apart should they be spread? Also if this is assisting in making my situation more tolerable, will I need to have this procedure done for the rest of my life? Isn't this just masking the real problem? Wouldn't surgery "fix" on a more permanent basis? If these shots are given every so often is there anything to look for or watch out for? What I mean is repeated doses of this "medication" can't be healthy can it? Wouldn't a person's body stop producing the natural "pain medication" all together?
