    Moved: CBD discussion

My return over the past 17 years, with every attempt to improve through working out, to supplements, to diet, to you name it... has been pathetically slow as far as nerve recovery. Then just over a year ago I began using CBD for anxiety and inflammation. It was definitely giving me some benefits. Then the prices of CBD dropped dramatically, so I began using it steadily every day and more of it daily. With nothing else changing but the CBD, in the past six months I've gone from feeling nearly nothing from above the nipples down other than when pain becomes extreme from a bum begging me to get off of it, or swollen feet past their limit, to feeling nearly all of my body enough to close my eyes, have someone touch me anywhere and I can tell them where they're touching. I can take deeper breaths now and when I do, I can feel nearly all of my body right down to my feet being involved in attempting to take those deep breaths. I can somewhat flex ever so slightly my entire body now that when my butt gets sore, I can flex my butt-cheeks enough over and over to improve circulation so much that I can end the pain. Both sitting up and laying down. It's improved my bowel routine as well. I literally squeeze my b-hole open and closed over and over and it gets things moving like I've never been able to move it even as an able-bodied individual. Reduced nerve pain in my hands as regular feeling returns. My body temperature regulating itself much more like an AB. Spasms reduced. I could go on about the improvements but my point being... I've (we have) seen years gone by with no real-world medical advances in SCI, yet, here something as simple as CBD has given me more advances after all these years than any "advance" in SCI medicine. Which has been none. My own takeaway from it all... having hoped there would be advances this far along only to have an extract from a plant do more for me than anything else offered/discovered, sure makes me question the abilities of medical science.

Very interesting, and thanks for sharing. Can I ask how much CBD you take and what form of CBD?

In before you're told that you can't share that kind of information here. THanks for sharing. I'm also curious which CBD?

I imagine that was all about controlled drugs. This isn't a controlled drug, it's licensed the same as vitamin tablets - and you can buy it from any health food shop.

It's like saying how much vitamin C are you taking every day, and which brand are you using. Aside from that, there are tons of posts in the other forums here on people using CBD for pain or spasms.

It's interesting that CBD oil has worked so well for someone here. I've been taking Delta 8 THC capsules and not noticing much benefit aside from helping me sleep. Usually natural solutions take time to work, but the CBD oil didn't, it sounds like...

I'm in Canada. Perfectly legal here. I'm using a brand named Dosecann. It's also the name of the producer/extractor. It's a 1mgTHC 25mgCBD per ml. They've produced a 100mg/ml that I'll be using when it's available.

2-3ml a day. I haven't attempted much more because I can feel the benefits within five minutes. I currently have an injury awaiting surgery and it reduces the pain nearly immediately and lasts all day. I should try taking more for science. I'm waiting for the stronger dose to be released in my province and then I'll really know if higher amounts achieves more results.

I just use the oil. I have someone pour it into a 50ml spray bottle. I spray it in my mouth using my teeth to push down on the nozzle. Easy enough. I just read your state laws. It remains illegal there. I wouldn't know how or suggest you trying to purchase without fully knowing your local laws.

I took 3ml yesterday. Will do the same today. I had even less pain, more comfort. Spasms were nearly nonexistent. My sleep was quite good. I have terrible sleeps but last night I was pretty much out cold until the morning. Something I've found is when I try flexing my entire body, I can flex much harder laying flat on my back. I have no answers as to why. A newer area developing a flex sensation is in my front hip area. Like the top of the pants above jean pockets area. Very minimal sensation of feeling though. As I flex that area I can feel my stomach wanting to join in on the flex. Understand, I don't see my muscles actually flexing, but I know there is some muscle activity happening.

NorthQuad, that's some terrific response you're getting. I do have CBD stores in Lincoln where you can buy cbd oil, but they don't have ahiflower or comments from customers with sci. Wishing you the best of luck....

Ah, ok. If it's actual CBD and not just hemp oil, which isn't the same as CBD and legal, I'd say check it out. Also, I don't use the capsules with Ahiflower, I just mentioned it as available is all.

I feel the same way about alcohol for acute spasms. Nothing beats it. Why can't medicine come up with something as effective?

Intrathecal baclofen is great for chronic spasms. But the results are spotty for acute spasms.

My state just legalized medical marijuana. This means CBD capsules can have more THC than the currently allowed fractional mg amount. Of course it'll take 18 more months to get the bureaucracy in place. Doctor screening & training, then patient evaluation & education. Edibles or smoking will not be legal, just patches and capsules.

I tried CBD but didn't feel any improvement. This was the non-FDA approved stuff which is all we have. With proper regulation in the future, I'll jump on that band wagon ASAP.

I know THC has benefited me (not recommending it, just my experience) but various strains = varying results. Pain reduction based on distracting effects of the THC but some strains cause negative effects. I hope I'm still alive when the regulated consistent formula CBD capsule is available here.

I speculate it's the THC in the Dosecann making you feel better, not the CBD.

I'll take your word that the THC did something for you. I'll go with what I've learned about the endocannabinoid system and science. It's the CBD.

On the endocannabinoid system and how it functions? Yeah, it's nothing new. Feel free to do the same. Explaining how after 17 years of paralysis at the C5 level I'm gaining sensation and motor function because you claim THC is just making me feel better. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4789136/
