    Another ray of hope

I am posting this in response to a neurosurgeon I recently saw on one of the TV doc shows. He was talking specifically about pelvic pain, but his discussion applies to any undiagnosed pain. They now have high resolution MR imagers and supporting software that enable them to do MRIs of individual nerves. That enables them to see if there is nerve damage, what kind of damage it is, and the exact location. Once the cause is pinpointed, they are able to do surgery or other treatment to relieve the pain. It is expected to finally unravel the cause of much neurogenic pain that current diagnostic measures cannot detect. It is already being used with pain emanating from the pudendal and peroneal nerves which run throughout the pelvic area (like mine). The problem is that it is only available in a few places, and Medicare and many insurances still consider it ?experimental? and will not pay for it. But it is a ray of hope. I have pasted links to a couple of related articles and a video below. The video is a promo by an earlier developer/user.
