Last night I was exhausted and went to bed early (8:45). I overslept and ended up waking up around 6:00. I was up quite a bit in the night due to pain (like usual) but I think I slept better and for longer stretches. (I normally go to bed after 11 and get up around 4:30). Today my pain is at the lowest level I can ever remember. I took a pain pill about an hour ago just as a precaution! Could it be that getting better sleep somehow helps? I seriously NEVER sleep well. I'm not complaining, just confused! Wondered if anyone else has experienced this.

My head hurts where I banged it on concrete. Never felt this before. And on top of the HUGE goose egg, it itches!
Calling doc in a.m. I guess.

I'm experiencing the same thing right now. My pain is excruciating the past couple of weeks. I also had severe arthritis in my left hip which hurts really bad if I'm not laying just right. My sister spent the night at my house a couple of nights and told me that at night when I'm sleeping sometimes I would scream, cry or say weird things. I woke myself up a few times with tears in my eyes. There is one time I felt sleep without taking anything and I woke up with no pain at all. It was great but only lasted about an hour before I fell back asleep. It would be so bad if my pain wasn't a 9/10 throughout the night, but that keeps me up.C-5/6, 7-9-2000

Make the best out of today because yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never come. Nobody knows that better than those of us that have almost died from spinal cord injury.

I too have such problems with sleeping. I suffer from neuropathic pain due to a spinal cord injury( T12 para ). What wprks for me is taking 1 percoset and 1 10mg ambien. We usualy go to sleep at around 10 -11 and wake at 8 or later. I have tried to do alot befor bed so im very tired but the neuropathy in my legs has a tight grip at night time and only meds work to stop it.

That's weird about our hips. It's not like we Use them veryoften for anything but laying on them. So I have left hip problems and right shoulder problems makes it so I can only Either side for half an hour before I'm uncomfortable and it starts to hurt. Then the real bummer part is my back gets sore if I'm slouched at all. Starting to think I'm an incomplete injury. Once I get done with this sore I'm going to have it checked out. There's a few muscles in my back that I can flex not to mention the feeling I get when I take Cialis. I wonder how much of a difference it would make if I am incompleteC-5/6, 7-9-2000

According to the anal test I am complete but I have some function and enough to propel myself with braces/cane.
It is confusing to me too.
The anal sphincter is innervated by the S4-5 cord and represents the end of the spinal cord. The anal sphincter is a critical part of the spinal cord injury examination. If the person has any voluntary anal contraction, regardless of any other finding, that person is by definition a motor incomplete injury.
It is important to note that the muscle groups specified in the ASIA classifications represent a gross over simplication of the situation. Almost every muscle received innervation from two or more segments.
I hope this helps to explain Ryan.T12-L2; Burst fracture L1: Incomplete walking with AFO's and cane since 1989

I can't sleep alot of times because of my left hip. On x-ray it has ridges and spurs due to my walking. I take an oxy before bed.T12-L2; Burst fracture L1: Incomplete walking with AFO's and cane since 1989
