    Spinal Cord Stimulator for pain

Does anyone have any experience with a Spinal Cord Stimulator?
I spoke with a pain specialist and he believes it is the best option left for my condition.

I should explain more about my particulars; I'd be interested to see if anyone else has had similar experiences. I'll give that its own thread, but, in short, I have a lot of spasticity/cramping, and resulting muscle pain.

I'm researching it tomorrow, but I thought it would be good to hear anyone's direct experience.

There are basically two kinds - a needle kind, that an anesthesiologist does, and paddle types that require a neurosurgeon. There's a blog by a gal that had one (paddle type) - she gives very detail descriptions of the whole deal:

Search the board, this has been addressed a lot.

I have one. while still functional it lost efficacy in less than a year and considering it tokk 3 tries to get it right I'm sorry I bothered.

There are a couple folks here happy but check into how long people are happy.

btw they do nothing for spastiity, spasms, cramping and for me never did anything for the associated pain.

perhaps an external tens for muscle pain may help.

bollefen---I searched a bit but all results were over four years old. I was hoping for updates or summaries, or links.

I'm still reading, and I'll keep checking back. that blog is a great find (a lot to read) thanks again tam63
