    Pam-

I'm not far from you...just a lil south on 27...I live in Avon Park...If you want good dr's for Rick, my dr's are in Orlando and I'll gladly e-mail you their info...If you need any help finding your way navigating 'round things or with equipment I'm literally right down the road...feel free to give me yell & I can help you guys out. Also, don't forget about the BSCIP, they are required to help him out(and they should be paying for the mods on the van you mentioned) If they have yet to contact you they are in violation of state law already...They only have a certain ammt of time to contact and begin services before they are in violation. The state website is: http://www.doh.state.fl.us/Workforce/BrainSC/index.html

      Thanks

      Thanks Chelle,
I already have him signed up for the registry. Now the hard part is going to be learning to live this new way of life. Our primary, Sam Korley in Bartow, has experice with SCI, so we are going to use him. I'm sure there will be specialist along the way that we will need. So I will get in touch with you. He is going to start the out-patient rehab with Winter Haven Hospital soon.
      Later,
      Pam

Welcome Pam to the group. I just joined and it helps a lot talk to others about what you and your husband are going through. My husband is c4/c5 incomplete and it is and adjustment.BBuutt the good thing is that we both talk on the forums by ourselves and ask just about every question you can think of and everyone has a good answer because they know where we are and where we are going in this relationship.Always remember a bad question is the one that is not asked.

                Hi from Central Florida...

Hi Pam from a C1-2 in Leesburg!

I'm a Shepherd alum approaching a 10 year anniversary (August 23rd). I apologize for not finding this thread sooner. I'm in school (UF via online courses) and had a very busy summer.

Anyway, I just want you to know that if your husband Rick ever wants to try bowling (real bowling, not stationary ramp bowling) just let me know. There's a group of quads (we call ourselves the Quad Squad) from around Central Florida who bowl about twice a month. That goes for anyone reading this, if you're interested in bowling in Central Florida, contact me, we can potentially meet somewhere so you can try an IKAN Bowler, or perhaps you can join our Quad Squad group. Just FYI.

Here's a video that the Central Florida ABC News affiliate did:

If anyone is interested in bowling, here's a link to a CareCure message I posted on Five Things to Know about Power Wheelchair Bowling:
                /forum/showthread.php?t=87066

                Take care and God bless!

                Sincerely,

                Bill Miller :-)

                I'm a C1-2 with a legit 255 high bowling game.
