  • salt gets in your eyes

    Hi;

    Has anyone heard of salt crystals forming on the eyelids? Friend with c4/5/6 incomplete is having issues with sweat? or something creating salt crystals that form on her eyelashes. When she works hard or gets emotional the salt gets in them...

    What say you?

    This can sometimes occur due to the effects of a cervical spinal cord injury on the autonomic nerves that control sweating and tear production through the cranial nerves. Many of my clients keep a damp washcloth handy to wipe their eyes (or have someone else wipe for them) when exercising or just as part of evening or AM care.
