This is what we use- see the worksheet also. Every level of your spine is tested for movement and sensation. This gives the AIS score AKA your functional level. It can be different on each side and sensory can differ from motor.
Quite complicated but this is the standard. Used to be called ASIA but this somewhat confused people so changed to AIS. This exam is for traumatic SCI but used for other spine disorders- if possible.
CWOThe SCI-Nurses are advanced practice nurses specializing in SCI/D care. They are available to answer questions, provide education, and make suggestions which you should always discuss with your physician/primary health care provider before implementing. Medical diagnosis is not provided, nor do the SCI-Nurses provide nursing or medical care through their responses on the CareCure forums.
