I had a partial hysterectomy in 2014. No problems but recently I have started dating. I am 51 and have not had sex in about 20 years. While having sex I bleed just a little and it doesn’t continue. I was just wondering if this is okay?

See your OB/GYN or primary care physician and have a vaginal exam if possible. I assume you are past menopause? If so, your vaginal mucosa can get thin and have less mucous. This can result in small vaginal tears which bleed during intercourse. An prescription estrogen vaginal cream can improve this condition.

There is little research on menopause in women with SCI, but anecdotal reports of them going through menopause at an earlier age than their AB sisters.
Meanwhile get a good vaginal lubricant to use immediately prior to Intercourse. I like Astroglide. You can usually find it next to the feminine hygiene products at big pharmacies.

Try the one without flavors first, and then if you are having oral sex, you might want to experiment with the flavored ones.
