Ever have one of those weeks??

I swear, just when things start looking up, something else goes
wrong!!! I know I usually don't post a "vent", but here it is.

We finally got the approval to get the addition done on our house.
BUT, before you can get a building permit you have to have your
septic system inspected. GUESS WHAT!! It has to be replaced.

This morning, after 3+ inches of rain last night. We awake to find
a HUGE hole in the middle of our garden. I am so glad that we had
not planted anything yet!!! It is 3-4 feet wide and goes about 6
feet deep and you can tell that there is like this huge open space
under where there is still dirt. We had a guy come out and look
and it seems that it is an old septic that has finally had a part
of the top cave in.We have to have someone come in and dig all the
dirt off the top, cave in the rest of the top of it and fill the
tank. Then we have to bring everything back up to the height it
should be.

Hopfully once we get this all fixed that will be it for a while.
Thanks for listening.
My mom just keeps saying, "And this too shall pass." I just keep
saying SOON!!!

The joys and curses of owning a home

I think the joys totally outweigh the curses. If you were renting you wouldn't be having any of this discussion.

Think in terms of an investment. Any improvement you make will continue with you or your heirs. Can't wait to be there again, myself!

Thanks Jeff!

I know that things will eventually work out. It just seems that
since we bought this house and moved in things have not always
gone as we planned. We only lived here 12 days when our children
were in the accident that paralyzed our daughter. I am looking
forward to the addition that is going on this summer. Maybe then
things will settle down. Thanks again.
