  • how to use a cell phone

I have decided the time has come for me to enter the cellular phone age. Now, the question is, how do I use it. I am a C-5 Quad with deteriorating function and no tenodesis, among other issues which affect the use of my arms.

    Thank you for any help.
    Alan

Alan, I’m also a C-5 and could not imagine living without the use of myself own. In fact, that’s how I’m responding to this post.

I use the iPhone 6 Plus because I prefer the larger screen. What I do is velcro it to the armrest of my chair and utilize a wrist brace with a stylus attached to it to access the controls on my phone. It’s super simple and works amazing well. Here’s a link to the wrist brace I use.

I am a C-3 quad and I use switch control to use an iPhone. I use my chair buttons as the controls which are connected via Bluetooth to my phone. Here is an example video of how it works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQKEE9nI1lk . The type of switch you use is up to you. Like I said, mine are actually the controls I use to drive my chair.

I'm a C3 quad and I have a permobil chair with a Bluetooth iDevice module. I use an iPhone with switch control which is connected via Bluetooth to my chairs drive controls. you don't necessarily need the switch to be part of your chair. I tried to link a video a couple of days ago, but I guess the mods don't like that.

          * if you Google "iPhone switch control" you can find info and example videos.

I made some of these and attached them to every phone in my house. Here are some old pictures but they work great.
