    No!

He was one of my favorites of all time. He was a good person to know and a better friend to have.

    you

Wow, this is shocking news. Such a loss.

Yeah, Bente, it's sad. My sympathies to his family. We have to squeeze as much joy as possible from each moment in our lives, because each one could be our last. I think Rusty did that very well.

Rusty could not attend, but was good enough to burn us a CD for the first DC Rally in 2006. They were our fight songs, songs like Los Lonely Boys Heaven, Eddy Brickell's cover of Hard Rains Gona Fall, CCR's Senator's Son. I thanked him in an email and he was most gracious. When they played on the pa with the Capital in the backround, it was a very emotional moment for me. Each song belonged there with us.
To this day when ever I hear Heaven (most especially) I think of 2006 DC and Rusty's wonderful contribution to that special day!

                  This is for you Rusty,

                  "Heaven"

                  Save me from this prison
                  Lord help me get away
Cause only you can save me now
                  From this misery
Cause I've been lost in my own place
                  And I'm getting' weary
                  How far is heaven
And I know I need to change
                  My ways of livin'
How far is heaven, Lord can you tell me

Cause I've been locked up way too long
In this crazy world, how far is heaven
I just keep on prayin' Lord
Just keep on livin', how far is heaven
Lord can you tell me, how far is heaven
I just got to know how far, how far is heaven
                  Lord can you tell me

Tu que estas en alto cielo,
                  Echame tu bendiciòn
                  [translated from Spanish]
[You that's in a higher place
                  Send me down a blessing]

                  Cause I know there's a better place
Than this place I'm livin', how far is heaven
So I just got to show some faith
And just keep on giving, how far is heaven
Lord can you tell me, how far is heaven
I just wanna know how far, how far is heaven,
Lord can you tell me, how far is heaven,
'cause I just gotta know how far,
                  I just wanna know far

                  RIP

                    Oh, man...

Rusty was a good guy, and too young to die.

A very sad loss. A talented writer and always thought of him as someone who did an incredible job of facing the adversities posed by high level disability and pushing on through to make a very accomplished life for himself and shared with others.

                          Rest in peace Rusty.

First Dodger and now Rusty they were two of the small group that helped me right after my release from rehab ten years ago. Rusty sent me signed copies of his books which I donated to the local library after I read them. I also read his weekly column in his local paper he was a talented author. My sympathy goes out to his family at this time
