    Mother of groom dance

My son is getting married in June and we'd like to share a mother/son dance at the reception. I use a power chair (but could use a manual one for the occasion). Any ideas or suggestions? It does not have to be a slow dance...
    Thanks!

Lois, I am in the same situation. I have two weddings coming up in the next year or so. Hope someone chimes in with ideas!

Here are some resources to explore. Looks like you could really have some fun with this. Enjoy your son's wedding.

        All the best,

My husband danced with his mom at our wedding. He is in a manual chair. He did a more upbeat dance where he could "twirl" her and they could have fun while dancing. In the end, it did not matter what they did...it was about his relationship with her at that moment and that is all anyone saw.

Following some of the links gnjl posted I found this ....

Most of the moves they did in this waltz look pretty simple, and could be incorporated into almost any "slow dancable" piece of music.

Our daughter got married in November, dad is the one in a power chair, she sat on his lap they started off really slowly and everyone was extremely touched to tears and then put that darn chair in fifth gear popped wheelies, twirled around and had a blast, everyone there really enjoyed it. I doube that your son would want to sit on your lap...just sharing our wedding and want to reassure you the guests will look past the chair. Congratulations!
