Video: Scientists teach a gorilla it will die

This is possibly the saddest thing I've ever seen

Pash, you know this is a joke, right? It's from The Onion, a satire newspaper and website. Funny but twisted. It would be very sad if true.

Good God, why does an animal need to understand about mortality and cruel fate? Way to take a content creature and harsh his buzz entirely. I don't see the need; this is cruel. Inflicting panic attacks is cruelty.

The next step in the experiment is getting the gorilla to write a will. Otherwise his family will fight over that sweet yellow blanket about five minutes after he dies.

The onion usually has some really good stuff. This one I agree was a bit extreme because some people didn't realize it was a joke. Usually you can tell its a joke right away.

I thought it was funny, even tough like you, I'm affected more seeing the animal commercials than the people ones.

I thought you might have posted it as an April Fools.

Oh, thank God. I would far rather be an idiot than have that be legit! I have no idea what concepts gorillas can grasp. I broke my heart when he put his blankie over his head though!

Those Onion News videos are well produced, so they do appear legit - but some of them are pretty funny. If you're not offended by profanity, check this one out - http://www.theonion.com/articles/oni...network,14309/

Not to mention the reporter saying "next, scientists will be teaching other animals they're going to die, like bunny rabbits" and then a scientist is looking at two bunnies saying "you are both going to die someday" lol.
