    Ohio State Fair

It has been quite a long time that I was to the Ohio State Fair. I do remember what the police officer said to me when I asked, "Where is handicap parking?" He leaned over and down into the window view, looking at me and said "You don't looked handicap to me!"

    Duh!

Now pull your foot out of your mouth!

Some people say the stupidest things!

The fair grounds is very accessible.

Once I was in the grounds I spoke to the police supervisor about his patrolman directing parking traffic.

Check out the website info here. Also, when we go to fair and such. My husband uses a motorized scooter. It is so much easier to get around because these areas are often not paved. It is usually gravel walkways and grass. It does not love using the scooter but it sure beats killing himself to get around, especially in the heat. He can enjoy himself. In case you don't own a scooter, I noticed on the website that they do rent them.

            From the fair website:

            Conditions for Admission
The safety of our fairgoers, exhibitors and employees is our number one priority. In an effort to ensure the highest level of safety and security, please do not bring any illegal weapons or substances to the Fair.

-Prior to entry, you will be asked to walk through a magnetometer.
What the hell is wrong with people in that this even needs to be said and done?

"Hey are you coming with us to the fair? We are going to eat some cotton candy and look at the sheep and goat competitions."

"Sounds like fun. Just let me grab my gun."

I would look into the parking situation before going. Many fairs have you parking several grass fields away from the main area. Lots of old folks could fill up the disabled parking spots pretty quick.

Yah all fairs I've been too they had us park on the grass and it wasn't very close. Some grass is easy to wheel in, other isn't.

cool. the fair is huge and has decent concerts too. I would suggest when you go to park, telling the cops or whomever you need accessible parking closest to a paved area. I think the exit off 71 you take 17th st. I think I want to go this year too. I used to be really involved with it, pre sci.
