I went with a "4-shower" tankless and the only noticeable difference is never running out of hot water.

Back to the house - drainage is too poor for traditional slab so we're back to either crawlspace or basement. Will come down to how big the cost-adder is for the basement vs. building the safe room (tornado) with a crawlspace. Sketching went well this week and next week we get first designs back.

Mize, after my injury we built our home. Its a ranch with a basement zero entry garage and front door. The land was flat but after the house was done the house sits up like they didn't dig far into the earth to build the house. Its a bit of a pain to go down the drive to the mailbox but I'm sure the basement won't flood.
Anyways ask your builder about zero entry its been great for me to get out and about and not worry about ramps or lifts. The neighbor b building their house liked it so much they had their builder make the garage zero entry

Back to this...looking for ideas for kitchen cupboards that are more accessible.

Have upper wall cabinets installed lower (from the standard 18 inches to 15 inches or less above the countertop). Full-extend drawer lower cabinets allow easier access than cabinets with doors and shelves. Include some big drawers with touch-to-open hardware and heavy duty rollers for large pots, pans and stacked dishes.
