Does Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) work okay with a wheelchair?

We are getting ready to redo our kitchen floor and get rid of the old sheet vinyl. I like the LVT and we had a rep come out and measure for it yesterday but he has some concerns with the edges of the squares showing a lot of wear due to my w/c. There is the option to glue down and use grout or not grout (edges of tile butt directly up to each other) or do a floating (locking) floor. I did some research online and I don't see any issues with the LVT and chairs but I wanted to see if anyone here has installed it?

I had LVT installed last April, it was glued down, edge to edge without grout. Looks great and no problems.

Mine started breaking down under the weight of my hospital bed. I finally replaced it. Vinyl is terrible to remove.

Can you tell me who the manufacturer is of your tile? My dealer asked me to ask you that because says that his manufacturers won't guarantee my tile and installation unless I use their commercial LVT. Because of my wheelchair pivoting they think it will mess it up. I've explained that I'm not in a power chair but in a manual and together we weigh 152# and I don't think my chair is going to tear it up. The residential tile has a lot nicer look to it so don't think I want the commercial grade..

Do you have the kind you lock together then? Would love to know how the grouted kind works with a W/C.

Here's what I had installed, Congoleum Duraceramic Rapolano: Taffeta White Luxury Vinyl Tile RA-11. It can be installed with grout. My wife and I preferred the no grout look.

We had the LVT installed and grouted this week. It looks really good and feels great to wheel across. Supposed to be virtually indestructible , but after looking at the ugly 20 yr old sheet vinyl anything would look good. It cost $400 more to have it grouted but it looks so real with it and it was worth the extra cost!

I put down a floating click/lock type. My powerchair tears the planks apart in both directions. I had thin screws added to the perimeter which prevents the planks from separating. Not the best solution but stopped the problem. Would never do floating with a wheelchair.

We had ours glued down as the dealer didn't recommend the floating floor for that and other reasons.
