CDRPA Status
Chaz, it was great meeting you and your Dad in Union Station! I really enjoyed my conversation with your dad and I know Matt enjoyed swapping stories with you. Hopefully, together we will make a difference!
I will follow up with Harkin's office tomorrow, and see if I can get an update. I too, was wondering what the status was. I'll let you know what they say."Our lives begin to end the daywe become silent about things that matter."- Martin Luther King Jr
-
Status of the CDRPA is that it has been introduced and read and referred to the appropriate committees. The more co-sponsors we can obtain, the faster it will be acted upon in committee and brought to the floor for a vote.
I was surprised to learn from my rep that he was unaware it had been introduced in the House in March. And, he was a co-sponsor last time around. Why is this? The war, the war, the war - that and a healthy handful of scandals have distracted lawmakers from domestic issues.
So, it is our job to bring the CDRPA into focus. I am optimistic my rep will again be a sponsor, but I've work to do.
Donna and Chaz-so good to talk with you both in DC.

likewise guys...it's great to finally put faces with our online names. John -- you're right -- the war is just clouding over everything, my father and I have been following up with our reps and senators... but what's next? how we get appropriations for the bill once it passes?

hi litespeed,
have you heard Dodd's opinion on this
my guess is Harkin may just need to be reminded or is in the process
thinking consentraiting on the comm. members
we need a generic letter thanking these committee co-sponsors and maybe ask them who else would be possible and also urging them to get this out and vote
we cannot wait until last minute again
