  • Boyd Melson wins WBC/NBC World Super Welterweight Championship

As many carecure members know, Boyd Melson has been fighting to raise money for spinal cord injury clinical trials in the U.S.A. On Friday night, he fought a 10-round fight with Mike Ruiz, a very tough fighter from New York, to win the WBC/NBC Super Welterweight Championship at 154 lb. It was a hard fought 10 rounds, where the two boxers traded hard punches. Boyd won an unanimous decision from all three judges. At one point, he knocked down Ruiz but that was probably a slip. The attached photograph is when he was being interviewed right after the fight, with his belt on. Congratulations, Boyd!Click image for larger version
