  • Wings For Life World Run coming to Denver

KUSA - It's a race unlike any other. Thousands of endurance runners will be setting off this May on a unique competition staged on more than three dozen courses in 35 different countries.

It's known as the Wings For Life World Run. It raises money for spinal cord research, and Colorado is helping to debut it.

On May 4, the run will start precisely at 6 a.m. ET/4 a.m. MT at the exact same time in locations across the globe - meaning that runners in some countries will be running from dawn to dusk while others will be racing from dusk to dawn.

I'm entered into the Australian event, in Busselton. Starts at 6pm, so will be my first run in the dark! My son will be there to support me (and others) - he doesn't meet the minimum age limit of 18 unfortunately, otherwise he'd be doing it too.

I think it's a great way to raise awareness of SCI, and I really hope it become an annual event, in many more global locations.
