What Did You Have For Breakfast Today?

Break-fast; is what we generally do daily after not eating for eight to fourteen or more hours. It's arguably the most important meal of the day and, if you've been making it a solo cup of coffee, it's time to add some "filler" to that routine while there's still some lining in your stomach.

Today I repeated yesterday's fast-breaking meal with oatmeal, a dolop of butter, stevia extract sweetener, some cinnamon and a small handful of walnuts*.

I had a bowl of oatmeal with organic blueberries, OJ and a bit later a fresh home-made tamale. YUM!!!

"I will not die an unlived life. I will not live in fear of falling or catching fire. I choose to inhabit my days, to allow my living to open me, to make me less afraid, more accessible, to loosen my heart until it becomes a wing, a torch, a promise. I choose to risk my significance; to live so that which comes to me as seed goes to the next as blossom and that which comes to me as blossom, goes on as fruit."

We were out of cookies, so I had a bowl of instant cream of wheat, with brown sugar.

A couple hot cups of green tea and a few chocolate chip cookies. They were available and my regular cinnamon pop-tarts weren't. That Krispy Kreme donut sure sounds like a winner 2jazzyjeff!

Through college, my regular breakfast food was a diet coke and a cigarette. As in that's what I had on my way to the BART station. The typical after bar food was some kind of eggs and meat dish from Denny's.

Nowadays, I usually have some kind of hot cereal like oatmeal, cream-of-wheat, grits or rice congee.

Quaker instant oatmeal - banana flavour.

                              What are grits?

If David and I go out to eat, it's usually breakfast involving some sort of egg, fruit, toast, bacon or sausage and potatoes ... but we haven't done that in a long time. My favourite is brunch on New Year's with shrimp, roast beef or other unconventional foods for breakfast/lunch.
Roses are red. Tacos are enjoyable. Don't blame immigrants, because you're unemployable.
