I ran out of both pop tarts and expresso disks for my Tassimo machine, meaning I couldn't have my customary morning 3 shot latte and sugar rush. I compromised and had a bowl of Ben and Jerry's Coffee ice cream for breakfast instead.

The first meal of the day is your breakfast: break-fast; you're breaking your fast.

I'm ashamed to admit that breakfast has become Meals On Wheelsl, more or less. I'm embarrassed not because I get the free meals delivered but because they're not the greatest nutritionally and make habitual use of animal protein. Balancing it out is that I habitually eat a meal of miso stew each day as well in which there will be only sea animal protein if any at all.

The worst feature of MOW, IMO, is that there is a big temporal window in which they may be delivered. No getting into the habit of eating the meal at a set time when it may arrive anywhere from before ten until after noon.

If you qualify for these and could use the budgetary break they represent, I recommend them. There are solicitations for "donations" each month, so you can pay what you can afford or want.

Yeah, the suggested "contribution" is $75 each month but the lady administering the program - a part of the senior nutrition program - told me to forget it. If I were inclined to contribute it wouldn't be any more than $25 a mo. as I figure I save $60 - $70 a mo by plugging into the program.
