I've had quite a struggle with this issue. I'm an on again off again vegetarian. I really really really want to be a vegetarian, I really do. It's just that since I grew up on meat, every once in a while my body craves it. I honestly can go quite some time without it, but I can't turn it down if a friend or family member cooks spaghetti and puts ground beef in the sauce. The only thing I've really accomplished is not ordering anything with meat in it when I eat out. Cooking at home is a different story. I always want to get fresh salmon from Earth Fare or Tilapia, or even grilled chicken breasts with a marinade. Can anyone tell me what you did to push yourself over the edge and give up meat for good? Or am I not such a bad person for liking fresh meat every now and then?
PS - It might be good to tell you I'm passionate about animals, which is the 1st reason I wanted to give up meat. 2nd - well, I'm a hypochondriac, and the scare of diseases kind of keeps me at bay from eating a lot of it.
