    Neighboring sushi bar

I moved in November and as I am exploring the things in my new area I have discovered my friendly neighborhood grocery has a sushi bar in it at the end of the deli counter! And have since discovered I am the only one in the family who will eat sushi.

Recently found great, fresh sushi here, too. I'm not near the ocean, but the ingredients are overnighted, rolled fresh here.

Sushi is one of my faves.

If your family won't eat it, just means more for you.

I only tries sushi a couple of years ago and I don't know what I did before it .
It is pretty guilt free fast food ,though there is probably a few hollow carbs in all that sticky rice . The japanese probably show more restraint than i do though.Who knew seaweed was so delicious?!

I'd go with California Rolls. Pretty universal.

My fave is salmon with salmon caviar. Hard to find it here, though.

Bet you'll be a sushi convert, Cory.

Sushi's kinda hot on a date, IMO. Something about sharing a food lust together. Just be sure to have major coin if you take your girl(s).

sushi is usually raw fish on rice.
sashumi is just pieces of raw fish.

maki rolls are sometimes called sushi and are good for beginners. I like shrimp tempura roll, dragon roll, california roll, spicy salmon roll.

they usually have lunch specials called bento boxes where you get an assortment of japanese foods, including sushi. $7-$9 good way to try things out. Watch out for the green mustard!

You gotta try the raw quail eggs. I had to slam a couple bombs first but raw quail eggs are great.

I can tell you for a fact, having been a scuba diver and dh being a spearfisherman, fish should not smell or taste like fish(if that makes sense). Really good, fresh fish, has no smell.
We love, love sashimi or just good raw fish with all the sides. Our kids, including dd(just turned 8) love it and she will fight you over it so, will mommy.
I could live off it, awesome. I just found it about 10 months ago and always thought is was gross. I did not realize what I was missing.
You won't look back "if" you get good quality fish, plus it is good for you!

I like to mix tamari sauce with wasabi and shaved pickled ginger.
