I just got an Air Fryer

Best kitchen appliance I ever bought. Tried jumbo shrimp with excellent results. Very crispy leaves a guilt free feeling adding that little bit more tartar sauce. Ultrean Air Fryer, 4.2 Quart 69.99

I've been considering one. They do take up a lot of counter space though.

Its got a lot of promise for cooking healthy meals. Wife is still learning how to cook with it, but she has done some good eggrolls.....and not so good eggrolls. Time and practice will make that air fryer awesome.

Isn’t there an instant pot air fryer combo now? If I didn’t already have an instant pot (everyone should have one they’re awesome), I’d definitely get that model. But I don’t have the counter space for a new appliance at the moment.

Well ok now - You got me hitting google to see what this is. That would be a great combo to use.

Thought about getting one. Checked out some videos comparing them to deep frying. Seems that most preferred the food with the deep frying method for taste and the browning of foods. I'm sure the air fryer is healthier for you so you don't have all that oil and grease. Clean up would be less mess also with the air fryer. Wasn't sure if it would just be an extra gizmo taking up space on my kitchen counter.

This is what we have used for years Mike, a Original 727 Turbo Cook Oven. https://www.easycook.com.au/
Any food comes out beauty. Fat free chook that is still moist and stays that way.
Spuds, kumera etc - lovely. Fish, all meats; cakes too.

I bought a near new one off the local auction site for when our current one ever fails; it hasn't in all the time we have owned it.
Cooking in fat or oils is sure tasty but really bad for me/us.
Lightly oiled then oven baked is pretty damned good too. It is how I like my chips (fries) done.

Single use items don't offer much utility. I am happy with the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer. Because it does much more, like toasting, roasting, baking, broiling, dehydrating, dough proofing, and even gets hot enough (480 degrees F) for pizza. Another advantage is that it is large enough for an entire chicken. I'll roast a chicken and then air fry it for the last 10 minutes to crisp up the skin.

Having said that, an air fryer is a glorified convection oven. If you have a convention oven you may be able to improvise without a new appliance. But an air fryer will probably be faster, take less energy, and the results will be closer to actual frying.
