    National Cinnamon Bun Day

    We missed it! It is celebrated on Oct. 4 in Sweden. I am putting this on my calendar for next year. These yummies are worthy of celebrating. My wife is the baker in our house and I am going to persuade her to make a batch over the weekend. There is nothing like the smell of hot cinnamon buns coming out of the oven! Heavenly.

        post pics. I like cinnamon buns but I like mine crispy. When I'm at cinnabon, the guy will leave mine in for an extra 5 minutes to get it crispier. With a glass of milk its awesome.

            I just got back from grocery shopping and saw this post….sci55 you’re a cruel, cruel man. All I can think of now is a hot cinnamon bun, with a dab of real butter, in the morning. Just one. Or four. I’m a good cook but I am a lousy baker. An old b/f was a genius with pies, cakes and stuff but I never learned, even though he was a master baker.

            I hope you’re recovering well from the health issues you’d posted in August. Femur fracture etc. I’m new here and I hope I don’t come across as being too familiar but that stayed in my mind….heck of a lot for you and your Mrs. to contend with.

            Food is important in healing. A Southern Gentleman friend of mine suggested that I eat lots of gravy after orthopedic surgery. He said that thick gravy helps bones and tendons and things knit by kinda gluing them together. I couldn’t find anything in the medical literature about this, but I always felt better after eating anything with gravy. He also recently told me that lightly cooked okra, the really gooey kind, acts like collagen to unwrinkled wrinkles. I’m a little worried though to ask him about the cellulite on my…err…derriere.

                I will give the gravy a try. It makes as much sense as some of the other info I have been given. As for the okra, I will pass on that. The gooey stuff does nothing for me. It ranks up there with raw oysters! Maybe it is because I am originally from PA and not a blue-blood southerner. lol
