    betheny,

I just go to the gym and do sholder presses/bench presses.
They have machines so you don't have do use free weights.

That is true I have low body fat, I'm actually trying to gain weight now.
But yes e-stim and diet intialy is how i got them back, but pre accidnetly i had an 8 pack since i was in 8th grade, so I'm not sure it was always still there and the paralzysis was just hiding it or what, but the e-stim brought it back up.

          powerwheels,

its strange, my skin must have gotten weakened from constant e-stimming or somthing but at the start I would leave them on for an hour and get no redness.

Which is not recommend at all by anyone, but I found it really give me a good work out on my abs. Afterwards my stomach felt more tighter (keep in mind) I probably have some sort of pyscholical problem but I need to feel a certain way or I'll go crazy.

Meaning I needed my stomach to feel tighter so I over did it, I would e-stim about 5 hours a day. (not just my abs but every body part, an hour each.)

Now adays, I can only do it for about 20 mins before I start to notice red bumps appearing (on my stomach), it might be a mix of electrical burn and allegrtic reaction to somthing on the pads.

It happens anywhere I put the pads, even if the e-stim unit isn't turned on, which makes me think they changed somthing in the pads over the past 3 years.

But each body part is different. You can e-stim your legs much longer than you can e-stim your stomach. I cna e-stim my quads still for about an hour with just slight redness but now my stomach is limited to about 20 mins.

So rule of thumb, the bigger the muscle, usually the longer you can e-stim it without it bothering you.

But with all SCI, everyone is different. e-stim for 5 mins, stop and see if there is redness if not, continue. When it gets a light pink/red you need to stop. It really will burn you.

Also note, when you first start doing it you might not notie anyting for awhile. I dind't start noticing it for awhile either, it was a combo of me dieting and e-stimming. I would always over eat and my gut would get huge and i hated it. So one day I took a huge shit, and I voweled not to overeat again. SO i didn't, I would just eat small portions thorughtout the day with a mix of e-stimming and after awhile It just happened.

yah you just need a docotors write up to get one of the epxensive ones like 800 dollar ones, mine is an epic focus unit. Or you can buy them online without any precpriton the cheaper ones that are like 100 bucks.

make sure its NMES though not TENS like I said before.

You can wear them while ur sitting up, i always did it while i was sitting or if i was sleeping i would put them on 2

I don't see one listed. It fits certain chairs listed, but they need exact measurements of your chair too. Here is that page with info and their ph number http://wheelflex.com/node/2. I actually just saw this in NM mag today. The toll free number is 1800-321-4240.

                    McLovin,

I'm not sure if EMS is the same as NMES units.

Even though those say it builds muscle, to me it looks more like a massager/pain reliever than somthing htat is really going to build muscle.

Anyone else buy a cheaper NMES unit that can give mclovin a suggestion? I don't want to give false information but I know people like Matt didn't buy the super expensive one and it still worked for him but I havn't seen him online in awhile.

Well NMES don't burn fat, they just build muscle, in turn muscle in itself, will burn fat, but I heard it works best if you already have low body fat. Lean muscle burns fat fast, but muscle with fat inside it i'm not sure works as good.

I'm not sure what makes a NMES good verus bad. I'll try to look up the specs on my EMPI FOCUS UNIT and then youc an use those to compare to whats out there.

I'm at work right but will do later tonight.

To burn fat, I recommend dieting, high protien meals with low fat, foods like chicken, tuna, pork, some lean beef, stay away from anything deep freid of course or fatty meats. You do need some fat though.

i asked coffee what his stim unit was and then went to look for something similar. found 2 of the empi focus on ebay, then the place had to take them down as i went to buy it. i emailed them and they sent me the link to their warehouse online.

i don't know what the deal is with posting info for other sites, and really not gonna go looking to find out, so pm me and i'll send you the link where i bought it.

                              hi Every1!

                              Question:
                              Code:
                              Would this be any good?

Also Mr. Coffee, where do u get the gel pads for the abs?

Last but not least, how would I know that I set the unit at the "right lvl" if I can't feel it?

Oh! And, can I have the pads placed on my belly in the morning, and then whenever I'm ready to use it, just hook it up, or will the pads become loose?

                              THANKS!

I'lll try to find the exact site where I buy them from, its been awhile because I had to stop due to overuse/allgeric reation to the pads I was using.

Anywho, here is a place, not a bad price for a 10 pack (4 electrodes per pack).
                                http://paincontrolsolutions.com/cate...c?categoryId=4

I get 2"x4" because this way i can put them vcertically on my abs and hit all the abs and still have 2 other pads free to stim anything elkse I wanted.
You know how high you need it when you get a good contraction, if your not getting a contraction its not edoing anything,.

Once your dfone using the e-stim place the pads back on the plastic it came with, so they don;t dry out.

But yes, you can keep reusing them as long as they stay sticky if they dont stick well to your stomach it will increase the chance of redness/electrical burn.
