Interviewing future end-users and clinicians regarding wearable functional electrical stimulation devices

Toronto Rehab researchers are looking for individuals interested in participating in a study which will identify users? needs and opinions toward new smart garments that will deliver functional electrical stimulation (FES).

The study will involve attending a presentation about garments (shirt, stockings) embedding electrodes that can activate upper limbs and lower-limbs muscle. You would participate in a discussion taped with a microphone about your perception of these garments. Paper questionnaires will also be filled in.

    Please respond if:

    1. You are an adult (>18 years old), fluent in English and without severe depression or psychiatric disease.

    2. You had a stroke or a spinal cord injury (SCI) more than one year ago, and are paralyzed, fully or in part, in the leg(s) and/or arm(s).

    OR

You are health care professionals (physiotherapist, occupational therapist, nurses?) experienced in rehabilitation of people with SCI and/or stroke.

    OR

You are the main care-giver of a relative (parent, partner, or child) who is paralyzed and dependent because of a stroke or a SCI.

Session location: Lyndhurst Centre, 520 Sutherland Drive, Toronto.

Reimbursement will be provided for transportation.

    Principal Investigator: Dr. Milos Popovic

Roses are red. Tacos are enjoyable. Don't blame immigrants, because you're unemployable.

I wouldn't mind some FES bike shorts. The real winner would be an FES binder!

If I could get my calves to squeeze for edema and butt for circulation and some meat ... I'd be a happy camper.
