  • Range of motion

Approximately 7 years ago I had a pressure sore on my left ischial that required flap surgery. I unfortunately don't have specifics regarding the surgery itself, but after the flap I was told not to stretch my leg until everything was fully healed. However, even now when having range of motion done on my left leg (bending my knee toward my chest), it is extremely tight, requiring a good bit of pressure just to get near 90 degrees. I'm afraid to have my aid put too much force to stretch it anymore, for free something may break. Is there a reason it will not loosen, and/or what can I do to loosen it? Thanks in advance!

Be very careful. I broke my femur pulling on my leg to get range. Try heat/hot packs prior to working it. Rangeing in a pool can help.
