  • HELP! need advice for fixing my toilet seat on the shower chair

ok, here's the scoop. my shower chair had a seat the the seams split and is o so cleverly made with a plywood base. so we got rid of that and replaced it with a base that looks like a cutting board (i don't know what it's made of) and a padded toilet seat.

the problem is, when i sit on it, the padding pulls away from the inner edge and i end up sitting on the base of the padded toilet. ouch!

    what can i do!?

where can i get a better cushion? and idea to remedy the problem in the mean time?

    ok, here's what we did:

my dad and brother took the toilet seat off, leaving the nylon sheet on my showerchair it was mounted on. then they took a piece of resalite (sp?) and used GE sealant on the inside ring, on the bottom to "glue" it in place, and along the outer edges.

it should be ready for monday. i'll take a picture of it when it's done if it works well enough. we're confident it will.

that's what we did, and the padding inside would roll out from the inner edge where i needed it most and it would leave me sitting on the hard base the toilet seat was made on.

it was a pretty pricey one too, 40 bucks and it's made well, except for that part.

duzzzzAt mean you got it fixed? SOUNDS like just the padding on that seat wasn't attached worth a hoot and ya need a better commode seat, the cutting board works. Those two know what they're up to, just got to get a fancy LOO seat. Take the pics when it's ready. Enquiring minds may need that idea at their house if it happens to them.

Instead of 40 bucks, get your brother to go to a fancy restaraunt with a pair of pliers and get one of their high-dollar crapper collars

I had a hip hop theme going. You know, put it on a big ol honkin chain, spray it gold in the loo b4 ya go, along the lines of clocks, hood ornaments, etc. No one would bat an eyelash, lol.

BTW Cali, does it work now?
