    TiLite upholstery fabric question...

    My TRA chair.
I have found that the factory standard 14” minimum back height is way too high for me to comfortably reach back and hang my day bag on the push handles without fear of dislocating my shoulders😀😟.
I have managed to reduce the height of the main support frame and mod the insert canes to allow me to reduce the back height to 11"-12" from the factory low 14”.
I believe that I can go lower if needs must.

I intend to modify the issued chair back upholstery to suit the new height AND provide a velcro or zip access to that foam insert.
Does anyone know with certainty what is the material used for the chair back upholstery?
    Thanks for your input...

Thanks BFD. I will look that up and see if it exists here in NZ or its other known name/s.

if there is a place where they skydive, ask there for a parachute rigger, they'll know where to find it.

A back that is taller than necessary may provide more comfort while sitting still. But as you mention, a back that is too tall can restrict range of motion, which is more than just an inconvenience. It can lead to shoulder injury. Here is a link to upholstery backs at DME Hub. They usually have the best prices.

Have you considered a solid back? It will be more supportive but more restrictive than an upholstery back if it's too tall. What size do you need? I may have a spare one.
