I got my ischial area pressure sore healed. I know what to do. I am gradually increasing my sitting time, etc. One of the things I did was to get pressure mapping done by a PT who was very experienced and knowledgeable about seating. We were able to make some adjustments to my QP that made a significant difference. My cushion is set, but now what? Do I have to buy my own mapping equipment to keep it set right? Setting it right cannot be done with the basic hand check procedure.

I can't find a Pro cushion. Here's what I have done since I got maped in my Quadtro. I use to fit ski boots, so most of my knowledge comes from that.
When I got home from the seating eval, I put a little Play doe in the middle of each section. Sat on it a minute and measured the play doe. It give me a start, to go back to.
I also will sit on the cushion for 45 minutes than get out and look at my butt. If there is any redness anywhere I readjust the pressure a bit.
Biggest problem with the ROHO in my opinion, is how much they change with temperature. Makes it hard to get right.

In retrospect, I should have thought of something like that. However, I do not think that would work the way my cushion ended up. With the best setup we could find, my cushion looks very over inflated. It does seem to be working. I am spending 3 hours up and 1 hour in bed without any sign of the wound recurring. You will find a guide to preserving shoulder function @

I don't know if this will help you, but it has been great for me. I started tying my cushion to my chair. I would roll the front corner under me when I transfered, not doing my rear any good, yanking it out from under my. I sewed a strap to the front corners that goes around the frame to stop that. I believe it has help take care of my skin.
